For a couple of weeks now, I've been a reader of Bring The Rain. A beautiful blog, written by a mommy who lost her little girl.. I would really like to encourage you to go read her story, it's so amazing and powerful... And it makes me so grateful.
Because really, who am I to carry this precious little girl in my womb? Who am I to be blessed with a healthy child, that has all her fingers & toes as far as we know?
God blesses us so much every day and often we don't even realize it. We moan and groan about the things that aren't going our way, but how often do we stop and look at what we do have? How often do you stop and realize that having a roof over your head, food on your table, a family, friends and God is SO much to be thankful for? Sure, the dryer breaks, the garbage disposal breaks and they break on the same day. So what? In the end, does that really matter?
Does it really matter that you can't have everything you want? It doesn't. In the end, it all comes down to family, friends and God. And isn't that what we should be thankful for every minute of every day?

What is this?
Anybody who can guess what this is and how this happened gets a million bucks!!!
Well, not a million bucks, but I'll definitely be impressed if you know what this is...
It's my laundry closet, minus the washer and dryer. The junk of the floor? Lint. Yes, my friends, you heard that right, lint.
The tube that is attached to the dryer somehow detached and has been blowing lint all over that closet for Lord knows how long. We only found this out because the door to the laundry closet fell out.. Well, I kinda broke it, but it was for the better! Because husband fixed the tube and now I can do laundry again, without blowing lint everywhere.
And no, I won't post a picture of what I looked like after cleaning out all that lint. Just trust me when I say it wasn't purdy.

Dating vs courtship
My husband and I did not date, like most people (even Christians!) nowadays do. We courted. Yes, you read that right. We courted. It was a very fun time of getting to know each other and preparing for our wedding.
Even though most people use the words "courting" and "dating" in same way, there is a big difference. Our courtship wasn't a traditional courtship, because our parents were not involved. Usually the parents pick a good candidate for marriage for their child and talk to the other party's parents. If the parents agree, and if the 2 people involved agree, the courtship starts. During the courtship, either party can come to the conclusion that this isn't the person they want to marry, which is fine. From what I've heard, this is very rare though.
The biggest difference between courting and dating is this: When you court someone, you are preparing to marry that person, while with dating it's basically just for fun. There's no perspective on marriage or on a future together. Also, during courtship you are not supposed to be alone. My husband and I were chaperoned for 3 months and although it was very hard at times, it helped keep us honest and pure until our wedding night.
It was so fulfilling to finally kiss him at our wedding, knowing that we did the right thing and that we did what pleased the Lord. When we have kids, no dating for them - courting is the way to go!

Menu Plan Monday, May 5th 2008
Laura at Orgjunkie.com hosts a weekly thing called Menu Plan Monday. Here's my menu for the week:
Monday - Pinto beans w/ veggies & rice
Tuesday - Pasta Bolognese
Wednesday - Meatloaf, spinach & "baked" mashed potatoes
Thursday - Chicken Fajitas
Friday - Sausage & Peppers
I have to prepare on Monday for this week:
1 loaves of bread (wheat)
6 Sandwich Rolls (wheat)
The great thing is that I only have to get one can of diced tomatoes, one can of jalapeƱos & one bag of potatoes!

My poor hubby
I feel for my husband, I really do. Munchkin works very, very hard and I'm not always nice. Especially not now, with raging hormones, lack of sleep and an overactive bladder. Oh yes, I know the lack of sleep will only increase.
I am terrible at being pregnant. Seriously. I complain, I ache, I cry.. Did I mention the lack of sleep? Peanut is becoming heavier, I can't lay on my back anymore and lying on my side isn't as comfy as it used to be. Tonight I'm trying some extra pillows between my legs, behind my back and wherever else it feels comfy.
I don't like the heartburn or the Tums I take for it. The backaches aren't fun either, but they give me a good reason to go to the chiropractor.
But then I feel her move, I feel her kick when Munchkin talks to her and when I look at the ultrasound picture, my heart melts...
It's so worth it...
(And now I'm off to eat Cherry Pie with Cool Whip and read my new Good Housekeeping. Life is good.)

Introducing...

Don't you just hate it when you meet somebody for the first time and they don't properly introduce themselves? Yeah.. Me too. So, for my first post, I figured I'd introduce myself and show my manners.
Tiny: That would be me. Tiny is the nickname my husband often uses for me. I'm a Christian newlywed in my very early twenties and a homemaker. This is a pretty hard journey for me at times because I wasn't raised to be a keeper at home. But - with guidance from many wise women and the direction from the Lord, I'm doing better every day.
Munchkin: My husband! A fun loving, hard working man who I absolutely adore. He works in advertising and loves it. He also loves his video games and I make him play them because he rarely takes the time to do it. He is the most patient person I ever met and I am extremely lucky to have him.
Peanut: Our daughter. Well, according to the ultrasound she is a girl.. If she turns out to be a boy, he would be wearing a lot of pink. Peanut is due in August and she is growing steadily. She loves to kick my bladder and always responds when her daddy talks to her.
So now that we're introduced, why don't you sit down and pour yourself a cup of tea? Have fun..
